Intro to the High School Essay

Session I

Monday – Friday  
June 23 – June 27, 2008
8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
7 - 10 grades
Fee:  $200.00

This course focuses on the different skills required to write high school essays. Everything from introductions, to thesis statements, to MLA format will be covered throughout the course.  Students will be taught the skills to enable them to tackle an essay question from the planning stage to the final draft.  The course will provide students with the necessary tools for approaching freshmen level essay writing.

Intro to the College-Level Essay

Session II
Monday – Friday 
June 23. – June 27, 2008
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
11 - 12 grades

Fee:  $200.00

This course focuses on the different skills required to write senior and college essays.  Everything from introductions, to thesis statements, to MLA format will be covered throughout the course.  Students will be taught the skills to enable them to tackle an essay question from the planning stage to the final draft.  The course will provide students with the necessary tools for approaching expository, analytical and persuasive writing.  Ultimately, students will be taught to take their writing “to the next level.”

Intro to the College Application Essay

Session III
Monday – Friday 
July 8 – July 12, 2008
9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
11 - 12 grades

Fee:  $200.00

This course focuses on the different skills required to write the college application essay.   Everything from introductions, to how to project personality, skills, and aptitude through writing, to “what not to do” will be covered throughout the course.  Students will be taught the skills to enable them to tackle an application essay question from the planning stage to the final draft.  The course will provide students with the necessary tools for approaching college application essay writing and will conclude with each student producing a polished college application essay for the school of their choice.
