Volunteering
is important because it is a good way to stay involved in your student’s
life, and to meet other parents. It has been proven that the more involved
a parent is, the more successful a student becomes in his or her education.
Parent volunteers help the school keep costs at a minimum.
VOLUNTEER
REQUIREMENTS
Each family is required to give 40 volunteer hours to the
school annually. Enclosed in this brochure you
will find many opportunities in which to fulfill your volunteer commitment.
You may also choose to contribute $200.00 to the school in place of the
40 hour commitment. If you are going to work with students at the school,
you are required to have a volunteer screening form on file. Volunteering
is fun and an exciting way to meet new friends. Helping the school gives
you the unique opportunity to keep the lines of communication open between
home and school. Students appreciate seeing their families involved and
your example also supports the values of community service. Parents can
also earn volunteer credit by donating much needed supplies to the school.
Check the most up to date list here and in the regular Falconer under
"Volunteer Hours."
