When wearing graphic and floral patterns, remember not to accessorize too much. Keep it simple. Pick a solid-colored purse and not too much jewelry. Your shirt should be the main attraction.
Bangles have been around for quite a while now, and they are not going anywhere any time soon. They are great for every season because they are so much fun! Try to find some that match that cute new swimsuit that you bought for the summer.

1. It’s Economical: For high school students, a day pass only costs $1.50, and an entire month is $25; that’s less than a dollar a day! Let’s do some math. The average cost of one gallon of gas for you or your parents’ car is about $3.50, according to fuelgaugereport.com—which means that a day pass to travel all over Dallas county costs less than half a gallon of gas. Moreover, to fill the entire tank can cost anywhere from 30 to 80 dollars (12 to 20+ gallons), and the average driver fills their tank once each week; therefore, a month pass is 10 to 20 percent of the total expense typically spent on gas alone (120-240 dollars/month.) “It is so convenient and saves a lot of gas money for my parents,” Freshman Mikey Solares states.

2. It’s Convenient: DART Bus and Rail takes its passengers to locations all over the Metroplex. The mall, movie theater, restaurants, parks, popular attractions, even your friend’s neighborhood—almost anywhere you could possibly desire to go to hang out with friends or family is at your disposal. Senior Jessie Garcia says public transportation is fun because “you get to go places with your friends like the movies.”

3. It’s Dependable: Although technical difficulties may occur, the amount of time necessary to fix such malfunctions pales in comparison to the colossal amount of time individuals spend on the road. Constant traffic is not an issue for DART transportation; this allows people using DART to know that they will arrive on time to wherever they are going.

4. It’s Safe: Car accidents account for over one million deaths and nearly 40 million injuries in America each year, according to “Motor Vehicle Accidents in Dallas, TX.” Annually, the number of fatalities and injuries combined as a result of public transit accidents is about 2 percent compared to that of automobile accidents, according to apta.com. Facts are facts; safety and security are optimal when using public transportation.

5. It’s Environmentally Friendly: DART is the ultimate high-occupancy vehicle, minimizing the cost per person as well as the use of energy resources to travel. Most forms of public transportation utilize natural gas, which is not only more inexpensive than regular fuel, but also more environmentally advantageous. With the use of natural gas, exhaust emissions are far less than that of multiple automobiles.

Imagine it, a beautiful day: it’s 80 degrees with a cool breeze, the sun is shining, and you’re inside watching boring talk shows. Summer is soon approaching, and if you don’t have your driver’s license yet and your parents have to work, you’re going to be stuck at home … bored out of your mind. But it doesn’t have to be that way; we both know you have plenty of places to hook up with your friends … you just don’t have a ride.

Problem solved: the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) “gets you around 13    cities with rail, bus… and rideshare services,” according to dart.org. Public transportation has a wide variety of benefits. Just to name a few:

The reasons add up. Public transportation is the most sensible of any type of transportation, whether determined by its inexpensive cost, the given convenience and safety, or its high dependability. So don’t stay in this summer, go out and catch a ride with DART. Have some fun, and meet up with your friends without having to burden your parents’ schedule or put a major dent in your own wallet!

This is the last fashion update for the 2007-08 school year. Before the summer begins, we must all know the perfect trends to make sure nothing is too tight and everyone is looking right. New colors, patterns, accessories, and more are sure to make Bishop Dunne looking good before the summer begins. So let’s find out what’s hot for Summer 2008.

Colors and Patterns

Bright colors, graphics, and floral patterns are hotter than the Texas weather this summer. Make sure not to go overboard with the floral patterns, though.

Pair a cute floral shirt with a pair of jeans, or when dressing for a special occasion, pair with solid-colored slacks. Also, bright colors are in, but keep in mind that you don’t want to compete with the sun.

If you aren’t into the floral tops, try a pair of shorts with a cute pattern. They are comfortable and easy to wear. You can find these in all varieties, such as short-shorts, and knee-high length.
