“They Went

That-a-way” (and You Should Too!)

The down-low on the theatre department’s latest production

By: Clark McClellan

The theatre department is yet again putting on another spectacular performance. The rehearsals for the play “They Went That-A-Way” have already commenced, and everyone is diligently practicing their lines.

The play is about Charlotte Pelham, a city girl who has inherited a ranch from her late uncle. Along with her sidekick, Lil Bower, she decides to go into the dude ranch business.

Charlotte and Lil Bower find it rough until Freddy Buck, an “impecunious master of ceremonies,” talks her into hiring him as a cowboy. Everyone begins to arrive, including an heiress, a couple of business-men who carry around $65,000 in a shoebox, and a Hollywood glamour girl. There are also various Native American characters, namely Joe Chuckwagon, his wife, and Princess One Blossom. All sorts of antics commence, and…well, you’ll have to see the play to find out the rest.

So go and see “They Went That Away” by the Bishop Dunne Theatre Department, it won’t be a waste of time.
