Middle School Athletic Program wins the DPL All-Sports Championship
Congratulations to our Middle School Athletic Program for winning the Dallas Parochial League All–Sports Championship for the 2007-2008 school year. Bishop Dunne scored points in nine sports and defeated St. Bernard for the top spot by 2.5 points. Bishop Dunne amassed 500 points for the school year and St. Bernard 497.5 points. Congratulations and thank you to all the administrators, teachers, parents, student athletes, and coaches for a job well done. Your extra time and effort is greatly appreciated. Stop by the front office and see our All-Sport Championship trophy.

Middle School Cheerleading
It is time to join next school year's middle school cheerleading squad. Please email Coach Guerrero at sguerrero@bdhs.org for more information and a registration form.  The deadline to register for cheerleading is August 2.

Middle School Football
It is time to join the middle school football team for next school year. Football is available to all students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Please email Coach Guerrero at sguerrero@bdhs.org for more information and a registration form. The deadline to register for football is July 21, 2008.

5th and 6th Grade Football Team
Bishop Dunne Catholic School is proud to announce the fourth season of a 5th / 6th grade football team sponsored by Bishop Dunne Catholic School. This team will be composed of students from St. Elizabeth, Immaculate Conception, Santa Clara, St. Cecilia, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Joseph (Waxahachie), Mount St. Michael, Holy Trinity and St. Mary of Carmel. We will be competing in the Dallas Parochial League which includes teams from Dallas area Catholic schools. In order to make this program succeed, we need your support and commitment because Bishop Dunne does not have a 5th grade on campus. For more information about the program and registration, go here.

Middle School Volleyball
It is time to join the middle school volleyball program for next school year.  Volleyball is available to all students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The deadline to join volleyball is August 18.  Please email Coach Guerrero at sguerrero@bdhs.org for more information and a registration form.  

Join Cross Country, High School and Middle School
Summer workouts and training for the 2008 Cross Country season have begun.  Cross Country is available to all Middle School and High School students. Workout sessions for the summer will be every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at Bishop Dunne. For more information on the summer training sessions please email Coach Guerrero at sguerrero@bdhs.org. 

Transportation/Bus Schedule Changes
It is time to register for the bus routes for the upcoming school year. Please fill out a registration form and submit your fees on time. The current stops that Bishop Dunne offers are Duncanville (Holy Spirit), North Dallas (St. Monica), East Dallas (St. Thomas), and Irving (St. Luke). A $50 refundable registration fee is needed to reserve a spot on our existing routes. This is due by August 4, 2008. More information can be found on the transportation page in the Parents section of the site and on the registration form.

We are still considering new bus routes for next school year. If you are interested in riding the bus next year and/or would like us to consider a new stop, please email Coach Guerrero at sguerrero@bdhs.org or call 214-339-6561 ext. 244.
Stops that we are considering are Grand Prairie (Immaculate Conception), Waxahachie, Arlington, DeSoto,  Midlothian, Ennis, St. Phillip Catholic School, St. Augustine Catholic School and Downtown Dallas. In order for us to consider a new bus route we must have ten students registered to ride the bus. A $50 refundable registration fee is required in order for us to consider a new bus route.

T-Shirts are still on sale for only five dollars each.  If you would like to support the Funne Runne and St. Cecilia Church please consider purchasing a shirt(s). Sizes available are adult Large and adult Extra Large. Do not miss out on owning your official Bishop Dunne Road Race shirt as t-shirts are going/selling fast. Make checks payable to Bishop Dunne, note the number of shirts and sizes you want and give to Coach Guerrero. We will send your t-shirt order home with your child. Middle School Golf
Congratulations to our two golf teams for placing in the Dallas Parochial League Championship Golf Tournament. The team of Richard Johnson, Taylor Cartell, Bailey Tawil and Dennis Pearson placed fourth in the eighth grade division and the team of Donnis Broussard, Josh Woods and Bradley Boothe placed fifth in the seventh grade division.  For final results of the DPL championship tournament go to: www.dplsports.com.

Thank you to Mr. Jerry Woods and Mr. Brad Boothe for being assistant coaches and helping with the golf program.
