March 5 - March 7, 2009

Welcome to the 21st Anniversary of GeoTech!

For 21 years, the GeoTech Conference has provided a forum to inspire and motivate educators to teach about the Earth – its structure, societies, environments and their interplay – using a wide range of technologies. GeoTech brings together innovative presenters and teachers in all disciplines to share academic and technology innovations and to discover the importance of exploration, both personally and universally. Educators come to this conference seeking the latest in curriculum area content, technology information and training, and teaching ideas.

The Director General of UNESCO and the President of the International Astronomical Union have declared 2009 as the International Year of Discovery to further science, math, technology, exploration and the belief that scientific knowledge can contribute to a more equitable and peaceful society.

GeoTech 2009 offers a rich mix of activities spread across three days. On Thursday and Friday, (March 5 and March 6, 2009), there are many hands-on/interactive workshops centered around several strands: social studies, language arts, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and geospatial technologies. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson will speak to students during an informal gathering as well as give the GeoTech keynote address.

All events will be at Bishop Dunne Catholic School, 3900 Rugged Drive, Dallas TX 75224
